Why should we learn about Plant based cooking?
Raw veganism is a lifestyle that combines the concepts of veganism and raw foodism. It excludes all food and products of animal origin, any food that is processed or altered from its natural state, and food cooked at high temperatures. Plant-based lifestyle is a diet consisting mostly or entirely of foods derived from plants, including vegetables, grains, nuts, seeds, legumes and fruits, and with no animal products.Many physicians are not stressing the importance of plant-based diets as a first-line treatment for chronic illnesses, coronary artery disease, stroke and even cancer. This could be because of a lack of awareness of these diets or a lack of patient education resources. With the ever-increasing body of evidence in support of the health advantages of plant-based nutrition, there is a need for guidance on implementing its practice. A study was conducted to test the efficacy of health coaching in reducing symptoms of cardiovascular disease. This multicenter study was conducted on 792 patients, which were divided in two groups, one was given usual care while the other was given health coaching via mail and telephone. Results showed that patients with coaching had a massively lower amount of total cholesterol, and LDL-C, compared to usual care patients. Moreover, the group which had received health coaching lost more weight, exercised more, showed less anxiety, had better quality of life and overall shown better health outcomes
ABOUT Chef Marcia Cooper
Chef Marcia Cooper is a professional plant based chef specializing in raw vegan food. She has worked in world renowned kitchens, such as The Greenwave Cafe, Plant Food and Wine Miami, Plant Miami, PlantLab, focusing on plant-based dishes. Chef Cooper has conducted international raw vegan food workshops to inspire people to choose a healthier and more sustainable way of eating. Chef Marcia Cooper is currently working as a private chef in New York. She has taught courses in Miami, Broward, New York, Amsterdam, Berlin and Sweden. She has studied and worked directly with world renowned and celebrity chefs such as Matthew Kenney (an American celebrity chef, entrepreneur, author, and educator specializing in plant-based cuisine) and worked closely with Chef Chloe (a vegan chef and author which was the first vegan to win a culinary competition on TV and was listed on Forbes 30 under 30). Chef Marcia also taught classes at the Plant Lab Culinary School in the Berlin, Germany edition. Chef Cooper is also a Health Ambassador with Hippocrates Health Institute. Now Chef Marcia Cooper is a personal chef designing gourmet meals for private dinners; holding pop up events; providing private catering for elite class and giving vegan cooking classes at client’s homes. Olga has worked with Marcia in several projects hosting several public & private events together in Miami, Motala & Stockholm Sweden, Amsterdam, Berlin and Curaçao with other health professionals.
